WeCare

Funder: Enabel Uganda

The WeCare Project is a one-year initiative led by Samasha, funded by Enabel Uganda in partnership with the Ministry of Health. The project seeks to reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality by strengthening the functionality, responsiveness, and accountability of the health system at the community, facility, and district levels.

WeCare is being implemented across 20 selected health facilities in Kasese, Kabarole, Fort Portal City, Kyegegwa, Kamuli, and Jinja Districts, with a strong focus on eliminating delays and barriers to accessing quality healthcare services

Key Objectives and Interventions

🔹 Objective 1: Improve Supply Chain Management at Health Facility Level

  • Conduct bottleneck analyses

  • Mentor and supervise health workers

Expected Outcome:
Fewer stockouts, improved inventory systems, and increased accountability.

🔹 Objective 2: Enhance Coordination and Accountability

  • Train district teams in supply chain data use

  • Strengthen coordination with NMS, JMS, and MoH

Expected Outcome:
Stronger, data-driven leadership and improved oversight across the health system.

Through the WeCare Project, Samasha is working to strengthen the health system from the ground up—ensuring that systems are more efficient, and communities receive the care they need without delay.
